Buying an airplane can be a formidable if not inordinately expensive undertaking. To someone who had never been involved in the purchase of anything aviation before, the task seemed daunting. Not knowing where to start, I inquired about how does one go about navigating the land mines of regulations, ownership, taxes... etc as pertaining to a new airplane.
Enter Clay Hammond with his wealth of knowledge and experience as to acquiring an aviation product. I met Clay and he arranged for me to review my expected uses of an aircraft. He secured an airplane to give me a test flight and assessed my flight experience to assure I was not getting in over my head. We spent a lot of time making sure the product was right for me and that I could step up to it without significant insurance restrictions. I was very impressed with the entire process of determining what aircraft met my current and projected missions for the foreseeable future. From the down payment, the tour of the factory, allowing me to bond with the airplane even while in production by writing my initials in the airframe, to helping secure my individual tail number, getting the right avionics package suited for me, to the delivery and long after follow up to assure my satisfaction. Clay even flew with me down to Vero Beach to get my plane serviced.
I could not be more pleased with my airplane and the process of purchasing it. Clay has been there through the process. I thought I was getting some kind of special royal treatment, but from observations of him working with others, that is just the way he treats his clients. Couldn't ask for more.
